Dell just introduced a new 4k 27 inch monitor at Adobe Max that aims at professionals who deal with color-critical tasks such as color correction, color grading, etc. Along with 4k 10 bit IPS panel, Dell Ultrasharp UP2720Q Premierecolor monitor features a built-in colorimeter that integrates tightly with CalMAN color calibration software. It also incorporates Thunderbolt 3 connectivity providing a total bandwidth of 40Gbps.
The color accuracy of this monitor competes with the best color grading monitors in the market. With support for full 100% Adobe RGB, 98% DCI-P3 and 80% BT2020 color gamut, Dell UP2720Q will represent extremely faithful colors. On top of that, the 10-bit IPS panel will eliminate visible banding and provide a wide-angle of view.
Why Built-in Colorimeter?
No matter how expensive a monitor is, after a while, it starts shifting colors resulting in an unwanted surprising result. With the built-in colorimeter, this Thunderbolt 3 monitor will aid in a quick color calibration process. Even the best professionals in the world will forget to calibrate their monitors after some time. Or they just might avoid it due to the time it takes.
But now since the colorimeter is integrated within the monitor, content creators can easily calibrate the display from time to time. As a result, they can save a lot of time as well as stay focused on their workflow. Additionally, there is an option to schedule the calibration or you can simply execute it on demand. You are however not confined to use just the inbuilt colorimeter in Dell UP2720Q. By using the CalMAN color calibration software, you can either use the inbuilt or external colorimeter as per your wish.
Two TB3 Ports
Along with the essential connectivity options, Dell Ultrasharp Premierecolor features two Thunderbolt 3 ports. This opens the door for a number of new possibilities. Since thunderbolt also provides power delivery options, you can hook up a laptop on the second port to charge while the first port is in other use. With this monitor, you can Daisy an additional monitor using Thunderbolt 3.
Dell UP2720Q 27-inch 4k monitor also comes with an easy-to-attach shading hood to cut off glares and reflections. Another beneficial feature of this monitor is the Picture By Picture mode. This gives you the ability to compare different images or the same image in different color spaces.
Dell UP2720Q UltraSharp 27 4K PremierColor Monitor will start shipping from January 15, 2020, costing $1,999.99 USD.
