HP recently released its new Chromebook x360 11 G3 EE (Education Edition) that features up to 4 cores, 8GB RAM, a 360 degree IPS touchscreen display, and more. Designed to withstand rough use, the new HP Chromebook x360 can survive drops from a desk. Additionally, the keyboard can protect the notebook from spills of up to 350 ml (12oz) of water.
Processor
While the base configuration comes with a dual-core Intel Celeron N4000 processor, you can upgrade up to a quad-core Celeron N4120 processor. Rest of the choices include Celeron N4020 and N4100. All of the processors support the same base clock at 1.1GHz, however, the boost clock varies in all models. For more details, you can take a look at the specification chart available at the bottom of the post.
Memory and Storage
In terms of memory, the HP Chromebook x360 11 G3 EE provides two RAM options to choose from. Either you can go with 4GB or 8GB of dual-channel LPDDR4-2400 SDRAM. Both of the options For storage, again there are two choices consisting of 32GB or 64GB of eMMC (embedded MultiMediaCard) 5.0 type storage. At maximum, eMMC 5.0 generation storage supports transfer speeds up to 400 MB/s.
Display
The 11.6-inch display features a touchscreen IPS panel supporting a brightness of 220 nits. Sadly, Chromebook x360 11 G3 does not support a Full HD resolution and rather sticks to 720p (1366 x 768). On the positive side, these lower specifications result in longer continuous run time.
Connectivity
In terms of connectivity, HP Chromebook x360 G3 features four USB 3.1 Gen1 (5Gbps) slots. Two of them are USB Type-C whereas the other two accept Type-A connections. For audio purposes, it comes with a stereo mic/headphone combo jack. Wireless connectivity options include support for Bluetooth 5.0 as well as Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 9560 802.11a/b/g/n/ac (2×2) module.
