Apple is announcing its new iPhone SE 2020 edition that costs amazingly low and still offers amazing value for the money. The preorders for this smartphone will begin from April 17. iPhone SE 2020 is the second generation SE model that features the latest A13 Bionic processor (same as iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro) and equips a single 12MP wide-angle rear camera. The new SE model still retains the Home Button supporting fingerprint scanner.
iPhone SE 2020 Features
Display
Supporting a 4.7″ display, the new iPhone SE 2020 offers a screen resolution of 1334 x 750 (326 PPI). Its LCD panel utilizes IPS technology that contributes to wider viewing angles, better contrast, and accurate colors. According to Apple, this model supports DCI-P3 color gamut. But the company did not specify the exact coverage percentage.
The screen of the latest iPhone SE 2020 offers a typical brightness value of 625 nits and a typical contrast ratio of 1400:1. For immersive viewing experience, the display also supports Dolby Vision and HDR10 playback.
Camera
Apple iPhone SE 2020 does not equip a fancy multi-camera setup as you see on the latest smartphones. However, the single-camera it supports still offers amazing results. On the back, the rear wide-angle camera features a 12 MP resolution with an f/1.8 aperture six-element lens. Unfortunately, iPhone SE 2020 will not support optical zoom. However, the possibility of digital zoom is still there up to 5x. To capture more shadow and highlight details, the camera also supports the “extended dynamic range” feature for video up to 30 fps.
SE’s front camera offers a lower 7 MP resolution and a lower f/2.2 aperture than the rear camera. Also, it does not support OIS as rear camera.
In terms of video frame rate, the new iPhone SE 2020 is capable of recording 4k video up to 60 fps with the rear camera. Whereas with the front camera, it can only record Full HD videos up to 30 fps.
Processor
Just like Apple iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro, the new iPhone SE 2020 edition also features the latest A13 Bionic processor. This is the most powerful smartphone processor from Apple up to date. The 8-core Neural Engine in the A13 Bionic processor is capable of executing 5 trillion operations per second. In addition, the processor includes two Machine Learning Accelerators and a new Machine Learning Controller for optimum performance and efficiency.
Apple iPhone SE 2020 Price and Availability
The newest iPhone SE 2020 will be available to pre-order from April 17 starting from just $399 USD. The three different color options include black, white, and (PRODUCT) RED. Apple claims that every purchase of (PRODUCT) RED variant will contribute to the global fund to combat COVID-19 coronavirus.
Pricing for three different iPhone SE 2020 capacities:
- 64GB – $399 USD
- 128GB – $449 USD
- 256GB – $549 USD
All of the models come with an IP67 rating which means they are both water and dust resistant.
