Apple has announced that its major event WWDC 2020 will take place from 22 June to 26 June this year. WWDC (World Wide Developer Conference) is Apple’s major event, in which they announce the next generation software for their MacBook, iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch. This year due to the ongoing pandemic, the Cupertino giant has announced that the Event will only be held online. According to Apple, the event will directly stream from Apple Park via apple.com and Youtube. But we have quite a lot to see from this year’s event. This year, Apple is all said to announce its latest version of macOS, watchOS, tvOS, iPadOS, and iOS. So let’s take a closer look at it.
Apple WWDC 2020 Expectations
iOS 14 / iPadOS
iOS 14 is expected to have some major design and UI changes this year. Like last year, this generation of iPad OS will be similar to iOS. Apple will show off the latest and greatest features coming to the future iPhones, that are expected to launch later the fall this year. Apple may bring more security as well as faster authentication to face ID and Battery health improvements for older iPhones and iPads. We could also expect a revamped UI in native apps as well.
Apple may also bring updates on the home screen, which will bring more organized as well as a more smooth UI. It will also allow users to change their default apps from native apps to other Third-Party apps like changing the default web browser from safari to chrome. In addition, the company will include a new workout app on the iPhone, which will allow users to analyze and manage their health more precisely. There will be some changes in the iMessage app as well which will be allowing you to mention a specific in-person in group chats.
The accessibility setting is also said to bring some exciting new features. iOS 14 is also said to bring several other useful and great features to their iPad users like multitasking Features, An Augmented Reality app, and some Apple Car Key Features. That’s not all. There are many other exciting features that are said to come with iOS 14.
macOS 10.16
The latest version of macOS is another awaited software launch from Apple. Apple’s optimization and privacy regulations have made earlier versions of macOS much popular and much-recommended software by its users. This year too, we could hope that Apple never fails to satisfy its customers. macOS 10.16 will be another major software announcement done by the company in WWDC 2020. As the Cupertino giant is said to jump from Intel-powered Mac to Apple’s own ARM-Based Mac,macOS 10.16 will have a better UI Optimisation and we could expect a better Battery Management App in Mac with improved Battery optimizations.
watchOS 7
With the latest version of watchOS, Apple may provide new watch faces with some minor design changes. The major feature coming to apple watch this year is the new Sleep Tracking feature as well as a new Kid’s mode. The Kid’s mode will make the Apple Watch more friendly to your child. The new watchOS will also bring more precise fitness tracking as well. The new software is expected to roll out later this fall.
tvOS 14
The latest version of tvOS will bring the workout app from iOS to Apple TV as well. With the launch of the new Apple tv+, Apple has improved its tv experience. So this year, There could be some changes and optimization on the apple tv+ app within the tvOS 14.
Other launches
Apple is all set to introduce its own ARM-BASED Chipsets for its iMac and MacBook Lineup. This will be a Major Upgrade for the Mac lineup. Apple also recently scrapped its plan to launch the AirPower charging mat. But, it is tipped that Apple will also launch a small charging mat to juice up their iPhones, Apple Watch, and AirPods.
